Nigerian youth football coach jailed for 15 years for abusing seven teenage boys in the UK

A self-appointed Nigerian football coach, Emmanuel Igwebuike is jailed for 15 years for abusing his position by sexually assaulting seven teenage boys in the United Kingdom.

This 35-year-old man established himself as a football coach in his football academy based in South London.

According to the report, he established a trusting relationship with the wannabe players promising to further their football careers and providing them with a lot of opportunities.

However, he was found guilty of sexually abusing them, which were said to have taken place at his former addresses in Lambeth and Putney, as well as at a hotel in Birmingham.

This offense was committed between June 2019 and April 2021 and as of that time, his victims were aged between 14 and 18 years.

Emmanuel Igwebuike was sentenced by the Inner London Crown Court after the same court found him guilty in April of 22 counts of sexual assault following a five-week trial.

He was also given a lifelong sexual harm prevention order and will also be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
