Three police officers and three others were confirmed dead as a result of an inferno involving a bullion van and five other motorcycles in Kebbi State.
This deadly accident occurred on Tuesday, September 27, along the Argungu-Birnin Kebbi road, when a vehicle conveying jerry cans containing petrol collided with a bullion van.
According to Nafiu Abubakar, the Kebbi State police spokesman, the accident occurred when a Carina E car, carrying jerry cans of PMS, was suspected of running away from the officials of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) patrol team from Birnin Kebbi.
He said, “On getting to Jeda village, the Carina E car had a head-on collision with the Bullion van, as a result, bursting into flames and consumed three other cars”.
Meanwhile, a total of 5 vehicles and a motorcycle were burnt to ashes, including 6 people, 3 police officers, and 3 others. While 5 other people and 3 police officers were severely injured.
