The management of Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) has announced the reopening of the school with immediate effect.
Following the ongoing Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU strike, Benue State University, and other governmental universities were shut down on the 14th of February 2022.
This has caused a lot of drama between the Federal Government and ASUU hence all the efforts by the parties to end the ongoing 8-month-old strike proved abortive.
However, BSU in their recent statement signed by the school registrar, Dr. Mrs. Mfaga Modom, directed all staff and members of the University Community to resume with immediate effect.
The statement read, “On the directive of the Vice-Chancellor, I write to inform all staff, members of the university Community, and the General Public that the University will reopen with effect from Wednesday, 28th September 2022. All staff of the university are hereby expected to resume regular duties from Wednesday, 28th September 2022. The resumption date for all categories of students will be announced in due course”.
